Shelter Picks: Vera

By Sammy Johnson

Sometimes I find out a little about the past lives of the animals I meet, but Vera is a mystery. She is a 4-year-old boxer mix that came to Animal Aid in June. What is for certain is Vera is very sweet and gentle, and she loves to give licks. She is pretty obedient, too; when I took her for a walk, she didn't pull much especially compared to a lot of other dogs, and she wasn't hyper around the other dogs nearby. I could tell she really loves to take walks! In my opinion, Vera would probably fit well into any household and get along with all ages of family members because of how calm she is. She's also really cute, with brown fur, darker ears and some white on her paws, nose and neck. Vera deserves a home, and a nice family deserves Vera!

For information on Vera and other animals at Animal Aid, call (757) 865-0511, go to, or visit the shelter at 80 Butler Farm Rd. in Hampton.
