The Occasion for the Arts has its origins in a simple dinner party 46 years ago in which local citizens decided the city of Williamsburg needed a celebration of the Arts. Since then, it has grown into a weekend-long event that attracts thousands of visitors from all over Virginia and from many other places in the world.
