The Best of Dickens: Filmmakers love Dickens for his colorful characters and twisty plots. Librarians reveal their picks of the best film or miniseries adaptation of each of Dickens’ major works in a 40-minute talk with video clips. 4 p.m. Thursday at Williamsburg Regional Library. Free.

Williamsburg Music Club November Program: Pianist Lee Jordan-Anders travels from the Eastern Shore to perform the music of Barber, Gershwin and others paired with paintings by Eastern Shore artists. Coffee and conversation begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday and the concert kicks off at 11 a.m. at Bruton Parish Lewis Hall, 201 Duke of Gloucester St. Free and open to the public.

‘Make Sparks Fly’: Aura Curiatlas brings their imaginative brand of physical theater to Prince George Street for an improvisational performance and artist meet-and-greet. 5-7 p.m. Saturday at the Triangle Restaurant, 601 Prince George St. Free and open to the public; donations encouraged.

Yorktown Holiday Open House Weekend: Special events, festive decorations, special sales, door prizes, strolling entertainment and more await in historic Yorktown. 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Riverwalk Landing. Free.

Spirit of Thanks: This Copper Fox Distillery benefit supports FISH. Cast Iron Catering will provide food while Joe’s Day Off takes the stage to serenade the good cause with live music. 6-10 p.m. Saturday at Copper Fox Distillery, 901 Capitol Landing Road.
