‘The Autobiography of Miss Jane Pittman’: During 1960s racial strife in Louisiana, a 110-year old former slave tells the story of her remarkable life to a reporter. 2 p.m. Thursday, Williamsburg Regional Library, 515 Scotland St. Free.

W&M winter Choral Concert: Join the Women’s Chorus, Botetourt Chamber Singers and the Choir for their annual festival of seasonal song. You can sing traditional winter carols accompanied by University Organist Thomas Marshall. 2 p.m., Saturday at Williamsburg Presbyterian Church, 215 Richmond Road. Tickets at the door: $10; $3 for students with ID.

Ice Skating: Glide through the season at Liberty Ice Pavilion. They’re ready with ice, ice skates and hot drinks. Open daily noon to 10 p.m., 10 a.m. on Saturdays. Children younger than 3 free; Youths 3-12, $10; Adults, $12. Skate rentals $4.25.

Stargazing: Join the Virginia Peninsula Astronomy Stargazers for a night of celestial wonder and discovery. 5 p.m. Saturday at York River State Park, 9801 York River Park Road. Event is free; $4 for parking.

‘The Nutcracker’ by Virginia Regional Ballet: This Christmas classic, traditionally held in Williamsburg, has a new venue as Phi Beta Kappa hall is renovated. 3 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Sunday at Ferguson Center for the Arts, 1 Avenue of the Arts, Newport News. Tickets $25.50-$60.

Holiday Market and Toyland Parade: Travel to Yorktown for this fun and festive final Market Day of the season. There also are children’s activities and a toy parade led by Santa and Mrs. Claus. 9 a.m.-3 p.m., Saturday. Riverwalk Landing, 331 Water St. Free.
