While not everyone can travel to New Orlean’s French Quarter for Mardi Gras, there are plenty of spots around town where you can have just as much fun.

From jazz and pancake dinners to an Uno competition, there’s something for everyone.

Music and Food

Caroline Scruggs: The Hampton-based Jazz singer will perform classic New Orleans songs along with some of their originals to celebrate the holiday. 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Billsburg Brewery, 2054 Jamestown Road. Free.

Pancake supper: Saint Bede will be hosting a family friendly pancake supper to celebrate Fat Tuesday. In addition to food and drink, there will be a mask-making station. Guests are asked to RVSP by March 3 at bedeva.org/news. 6-7 p.m. Tuesday at Kaplan Parish Hall in Saint Bede Catholic Church, 3686 Ironbound Road. Free.

Activities

Mardi Gras Trivia Night: Assemble your friends for some fast, competitive trivia fun that ranges from facts about Mardi Gras and music of the holiday. 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Revolution Golf and Grille, 1430 High St. Suite 706. Free.

Uno Game Night Challenge: Do you enjoy playing games, drinking beer and winning prizes? Then come out to Billsburg Brewery’s Game Night Tournament to see who will be the champion of Uno. 5-9 p.m. Tuesday Billsburg Brewery, 2054 Jamestown Road. Free.
