Iron Chef Meets Taste of Williamsburg will return this year on a new date: June 9 at the DoubleTree by Hilton.

A joint effort from the Greater Williamsburg Chamber & Tourism Alliance and the Williamsburg Area Restaurant Association, this culinary extravaganza combines the Taste of Williamsburg expo and Iron Chef competition.

The two organizations joined events in the goal of promoting local restaurants to both residents and visitors during tourist season, according a prepared release.

"We are thrilled to work with WARA again to bring an amazing culinary experience to our residents and visiting guests," Karen Riordan, CEO of the Alliance, said in the release.

This year marks the 23rd Taste of Williamsburg, presented by the Alliance, and the 7th Iron Chef, a competition hosted by Williamsburg Area Restaurant Association. The first combined event took place last April.

Taste of Williamsburg showcases the talents of the Alliance's food and beverage establishment members, culminating in the presentation of awards to four participants. During Iron Chef, three teams of local celebrity chefs compete in preparing dishes for a panel of judges.

Tickets will go on sale in the coming weeks. For more information, visit
