10 Military Through the Ages: In just one weekend, experience centuries of military history at this event where more than 400 military re-enactors show how uniforms, weapons and military tactics evolved through the centuries. 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Jamestown Settlement, 2110 Jamestown Road. 8 Greek Hero Training and Storytime: There will be readings of the most famous myths, learn to make a Medusa mask or Cyclops origami eye and have a chance to complete the trials of Hercules to earn your place among the Greek heroes. 7 March of the Lions: This community yard sale put on by the Warhill PTA will also have a blood drive for the American Red Cross and the James City County Police Department will produce child ID cards. 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Warhill High School, 4615 Opportunity Way. Free.

6 Child Development Resources’ Bid ‘n’ Buy: The auction will feature hundreds of live and silent auction items, food, music, family activities and a cash raffle, all benefiting Child Development Resources. 11:30 a.m. Sunday, Jamestown High School, 3751 John Tyler Highway. Free.

5 Tidewater Intergenerational Orchestra Concert: Guest pianist, Beatrice Soderberg of New York will join the orchestra as it performs “Concerto No. 1 in C minor” by Dmitri Shostakovich. 1-2 p.m. Sunday, Saint Bede Catholic Church, 3686 Ironbound Road. Free.

1 Shamrock the Burg: The Kiwanis Club’s annual festival celebrating Saint Patrick’s Day will have traditional Irish music, dancers and food.
