The Williamsburg Women’s Chorus is offering two $300 scholarships for voice lessons to female high school students in the Williamsburg area.

Each year, the Phyllis Varner Memorial Scholarship provides financial assistance to young women entering grades 9-12 in the upcoming school year. Funds cover voice lesson fees, paid directly to students’ vocal instructors. One scholarship will recognize a student with notable vocal talent; the other will recognize a student with potential for development.

Guidelines and application forms are available online at williamsburgwomenschorus.org. Students can also obtain information and forms from their music, choir or voice teacher, or by calling scholarship chair Kim Storms at 817-905-8987.

Application deadline is midnight, April 30. Winners will be announced in May, with funds awarded at the beginning of the 2016-17 school year.
