    Colonial Williamsburg craftsmen put down their tools in exchange for an opportunity to test out the foundation's reconstructed 18th-century fire engine. Built from an original prototype, the fire truck is capable of shooting a stream of water 70 to 80 feet in the air. The trial run was a success and after being painted the fire truck was housed in a shed next to the Powder Magazine and used for demonstrations in the Historic Area. (1982)
