ANTIQUE ADVENTURERS TOUR ART MUSEUM OF COLONIAL WILLIAMSBURG

Williamsburg, Va. - The Antique Adventurers, a group of 75 women, recently toured the Art Museum of Colonial Williamsburg. Broken into three groups, the women were accompanied by curators and conservators as they visited "Portraits of for a New Nation" which revealed how the artist's clients wanted themselves portrayed; "Revolution in Taste" showed how table and tea wares were enjoyed in the eighteenth century and the "Upholstery CSI" exhibit that was led by Leroy Graves who has been with Colonial Williamsburg for more than 30 years. Graves has set an industry standard with his noninvasive furniture conservation technique, the Graves Approach, designed to restore antiques to their original appearance without marking or disturbing the frames.
