Belmont Estate and Kenmore Plantation toured by Antique Adventures of Williamsburg

Belmont Estate, Stafford County, VA and Kenmore plantation, Fredericksburg, VA were toured by Antique Adventures of Williamsburg. Some of the members are pictured in front of Belmont Estate, the home of Gari Melchers, a successful painter of his time, and his wife, Corinne. The house, believed to have been built between 1785 and 1804, contains a large collection of Gari's paintings and drawings along with those of other artists and a varied collection of antiques. Kenmore plantation, built in the 1770's by Fielding and Betty Washington Lewis, sister of George Washington, was originally part of a 1300-acre plantation just outside the village of Fredericksburg.
