Choral Evensong Service to be held at Hickory Neck Episcopal Church

Hickory Neck Episcopal Church is inviting members of the community to join them during the season of Epiphany for a special Choral Evensong to be held at Hickory Neck Episcopal Church on Sunday, February 17 at 5pm in the New Chapel. This beautiful Anglican service of prayer and song has been sung regularly since the Church of England authorized the first Book of Common Prayer in 1549. In Choral Evensong most of this liturgy is sung and chanted by the choir and priest.

All of the music for this Choral Evensong service will be joyful and uplifting, a reflection of the brightness of Christ's presence and activity in the world. Under the direction of Sarah Ford Bland, the HNC Parish Choir will be singing the Magnicat and Nunc Dimittis by popular British composer John Rutter. The choir's anthem, entitled "Creation Sings", is written by modern Irish hymn writers and performers Keith and Kristin Getty and Stuart Townend. Local organist, Tom Marshall will provide accompaniment on the organ and keyboard.

Hickory Neck Episcopal Church is located at 8300 Richmond Road, Toano, VA and dates back to 1734. For more information call (757) 566-0276.
