The Williamsburg chapter of the National Active and Retired Federal Employees (NARFE) recently hosted a very special guest speaker, Congressionman Scott Taylor.
Congressman Taylor spoke to the group about his work to deliver increases in defense spending and its positive impact on the local economy. He talked about his views on improving the health care system, his position on establishing "lock boxes" for Social Security and Medicare funds, and his support for locality pay and pay increases for Federal workers.
After his initial remarks about his legislative priorities, Congressman Taylor spent the rest of the lunch hour answering questions from the forty-five, NARFE chapter 685 members attending the luncheon. The amount of time he spent with chapter members was greatly appreciated.
This event and similar events were coordinated by Bill Ketron, chapter Vice President and Congressional District Leader (CDL) for the 2nd District. The nationwide, CDL program serves as a source of information, about the federal community, between congressional offices and NARFE members who live in that congressional district.
