Celebrating Women's History Month, members of the Williamsburg Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) got a glimpse into the life of an 18th century woman. Emma Cross (center) Colonial Williamsburg interpreter and member of the Nation Builder cadre, provided a window into the life of Clementina Rind, publisher of the Virginia Gazette and public printer. Taking up the publisher mantle 7 days after her husband died, Cross was captivating in her conversation of Mrs. Rind's challenges and successes as a woman printer while also maintaining her household with four young children. Ms. Cross is welcomed by Celia Adolphi, First Vice Regent Williamsburg Chapter and Sharon Russell, Regent of the Peaks of Otter DAR Chapter.
