If so, train to be an advance directive Community Ambassador volunteer

Adults with an advance care directive for end-of-life health care wishes know the value and benefit of this important document. Most adults however, do not have an advance directive. The As You Wish Advance Care Planning program is seeking Community Ambassadors for the greater Peninsula area including Williamsburg to help address the gap in guidance that contributes to this lack of knowledge and personal protective action. Select from one of two Community Ambassador training sessions, each to be held at the main Peninsula office of the Virginia Department of Health, a community partner with this program. Registration is required for either date:

• Aug. 13 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in Conference Room 4
• Aug. 14 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in Conference Room 1

The Virginia Department of Health is located at 416 J. Clyde Morris Blvd., Newport News, VA 23606.

Please register for one of these training sessions by Aug. 10 at (757) 325-9400 or

Training Materials and a light meal will be provided at no charge. All prospective Community Ambassador volunteers must bring a copy of their current advance directive to the training program (or have it acknowledged by the As You Wish office in advance). We must walk the walk to talk the talk.

As you Wish Advance Care Planning is a program of the Advance Care Planning Coalition of Eastern Virginia.
