Education for Ministry (EfM) at Grace Church, Yorktown

Opportunity to experience spiritual growth

Education for Ministry provides a setting that intends to deepen your life's sense of purpose. The 4 year study includes scripture, Christian church history, and the standing of theological thinking in our world today. Open to everyone worldwide, the program works as a mentored small group, authorized and supported by the School of Theology at Sewanee. Beginning in early September, EfM groups will meet on a weekly schedule through the school year. A preliminary informational meeting is planned for August 5th , 6:00 PM, in the Parish House at Grace Church on Church Street in Yorktown.

The centerpiece of EfM is the "Theological Reflection," which is designed to encourage participants to connect biblical and theological knowledge with everyday issues of contemporary life. Various methods of theological reflection have come into widespread use in many walks of life. The practice of regularly devoting effort through the reflection method leads to new ways of thinking that can enhance our lives as Christians.

The location for our meetings is historic Grace Church in the center of Yorktown. Please attend our informative August meeting, or contact John Hoppe (757-229-5113), Janet Stephens (757-898-5079), or call the office at Grace Church (757-898-3261) to obtain additional information and to learn how you may join us for this program.
