Ford's Colony Garden Club Honoured to Have Special Key Note Speaker for Their Summer Garden Tea

The Ford's Colony Garden Club was thrilled to have Elizabeth (Lizzy) Nice as a special guest and Key Note Speaker for their Summer Garden Tea Party held at the Ford's Colony Country Club on June 13, 2018. Every year the Ford's Colony Garden Club strives to send four children in grades 5-12 to Nature Camp, a private non profit residential summer camp that specializes in natural history and environmental science and is one of the oldest in the country. Elizabeth was a Nature Camp recipient 15 years ago and attended 5 summers in the George Washington National Forest. Nature Camp provides a unique opportunity to participate in a hands on, immersive summer program by learning, exploring, and playing in and around the mountains, fields and forest of Virginia. Her experiences in Nature Camp influenced her decision to study Environmental Policy and Planning and Environmental Economics at Virginia Tech, and led her to pursue a Masters of Urban Planning and Environmental Planning from the University of Virginia. Elizabeth continues to use her knowledge of and love for the environment throughout her career.
