Successful Green Spring Garden Club Christmas Homes Tour
Again, this year our visitors responded with great enthusiasm and appreciation for the 59h Annual Christmas Homes Tour on Saturday, December 1, which featured four homes in Williamsburg, Colonial Williamsburg and the Colonial Williamsburg Stable.
The members of Green Spring Garden Club, Inc. are very grateful to the gracious homeowners, residents and directors who generously opened their beautifully appointed and decorated homes to over a thousand visitors to enjoy. We are indebted to the hundreds of local volunteers, garden club members and professional arrangers who loyally support our tour year after year. In addition, we sincerely thank our incredible community, especially the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, and our generous sponsors.
The financial success of the tour enables us to provide scholarships to students in horticulture at Virginia Tech, environmental science and biology at both William and Mary and Christopher Newport University and Nature Camp scholarships to middle and high school students. We support numerous beautification projects and restoration of gardens in Colonial Williamsburg and the Greater Williamsburg area, and are a major supporter of the Williamsburg Botanical Garden's annual butterfly festival.
Our website, greenspringgardenclub.org offers a more complete description of the many projects we support through the proceeds of the tour. For other photos from last year's tour, pick up a copy of Southern Lady Magazine, November-December issue and Early American Life Magazine's December and Christmas issue.
