James City Lions host “White Cane Days"

On May 11th, James City Lions Club members conducted their semi-annual " White Cane Days" fundraiser. Donations were solicited at Belk Department Store on Monticello Ave and Panera Bread in New Town. Lions brooms were also sold. The white cane is symbolic of the Lions commitment to those in our community needing eye examinations and glasses. All monies collected at this successful fundraiser go back into the Greater Williamsburg community focusing on the less fortunate. The James City Lions wish to thank Belk and Panera Bread as well as the many generous community contributors. The contributors pictured are the Howell family (from left) Jamison, Jaxson, Jennifer and Jared. The Lions are Frank Hermes, Phil Giles and Warren Wright. Project leader for this fundraiser (not pictured) was Jim Snyder.
