James City Lions support the Greater Williamsburg Community Kitchen

James City Lions recently provided a lunch for about 40 individuals who came to the Greater Williamsburg Community Kitchen (GWCK). Lions purchased, prepared, and served the lunch. This is a new initiative for the James City Lions and they plan to assist GWCK with the lunch every 6 weeks. Hunger relief is one more way that Lions serve the community beyond their core missions of sight, hearing and diabetes. The James City Lions may add eye screening to their future volunteer work at GWCK. Pictured (from left) are Lions Phil Merrick, Phyllis Merrick, Don Martin, Armen Melikian (project leader), Vincent Sarro, Mike Boyer, Peter Brusman and Dean Risseeuw. Stephanie Slocum of GWCK is in the white jacket.
