Local author Jan Couperthwaite donates "Gowan Pamphlet's Colonial Tavern Cookery #1" to Williamsburg Regional Library. Library Development Officer Benjamin Goldberg accepts the donation. The book is a collection of recipes, photographs, and historical facts pertaining to Gowan Pamphlet, an enslaved African-American minister who established the first independent Baptist church in Williamsburg, Virginia during the 18th-century. Jan Couperthwaite is an author, editor, historian, and storyteller. She lives and works in Williamsburg, Virginia. This title will be added to the Local Authors Project collection at the library.
