JCC Environmental Coordinator speaks to Kiwanis about recycling

Dawn Oleksy, Environmental Coordinator for James City County, recently spoke to the Kiwanis Club of Colonial Capital about the importance of recycling and explained how the system works in the county. She emphasized the need for all citizens to take advantage of the curbside recycling program as well as using the convenience centers, which collect things like electronics, household hazardous waste like paints, and things like scrap metal and tires as this helps to minimize the need for landfills. Pictured above are Club President Rama Skelton, Ms. Oleksy, and Club member Howie Hall who was the program sponsor.
