KIWANIANS LEARN HOW TO BUILD A FLIGHT SIMULATOR

Fred Kurasiewicz recently gave a presentation to the Kiwanis of Colonial Capital describing how he built a full size, working replica, of the cockpit of a Boeing 737 in his basement. Fred, who studied chemistry in college, actually worked for the food industry his entire career. Following retirement, he needed a project to keep him busy and his life-long interest in aviation (he's not a pilot!) led him to his new hobby. Sixteen years later, Fred can simulate the entire flight experience in this mid-range airplane. Other hobbyists around the world who operate simulated Air Route Traffic Control centers can guide him on his trips. Fred pointed out that in order to follow his hobby he needed time, some disposable cash, and an understanding spouse!
