Kiwanis learns about John Henry, railroads, and connection to folk music

Scott Nelson, professor of History at William and Mary recently spoke to the Kiwanis Club of Colonial Capital about the legendary character John Henry who is memorialized in a folk song about the building of railroads. Professor Nelson, traced the history of building railroads in Virginia following tkhe Civil War, how the song "John Henry" got started and is the forerunner to today's country music and to some extent, Rock and Roll music.
