The Williamsburg Host Lions Club recently welcomed guest speaker Karen L. Joyner of the Virginia Peninsula Food Bank. Karen has been the CEO since 2013. Prior to that she served as CFO for the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia in Norfolk. Club members learned about the organization's Backpack Program for kids, the Kids Café, the Mobile Food Pantry, and how they work to help our community's seniors with special dietary needs just to name a few! Members were also introduced to the Food Bank's revenue sources, and we learned about the Culinary Training Program that is responsible for preparing 107,000 meals.
