Lord Selected to Receive Tricorn Scholarship

Local high school senior and member of the Colonial Williamsburg Fifes and drums, Sydney Lord, has been chosen to receive a college scholarship of $3,000.00 from the Tricorn Foundation. She intends to enter college in the fall of 2019.

Ms. Lord is a Snare Drummer with the Corps. The scholarship recognizes the achievements of the graduating seniors in academics, in the community and in the Corps. While in the Senior Corps Ms. Lord performed hundreds of times a year both in and outside of Williamsburg, including a trip to Boston. She is also a part of a contingent of Fife and Drum members who will perform in the 2019 Virginia International Tattoo.

The Tricorn Foundation was created by alumni of the Corps to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the group in 2008, by providing scholarships to graduating members of the Corps. Since 1958 the Fifes and Drums have become an icon of Williamsburg. They have entertained Presidents, dignitaries, and millions of guests to the Historic Area.
