"Mission Madness"

Some 230 youth from as far west as Blacksburg and as far north as Haymarket volunteered for a "Mission Madness" weekend in Williamsburg. Students were a part of "Mission Madness" organized by Walnut Hills Baptist Church, 1014 Jamestown Road and sponsored by Virginia Baptist Cooperative, Richmond.
They volunteered at over 20 local sites including, Goodwill, Pineapple Inn, Williamsburg Housing Services, Camp Skimino Girl Scout Camp and others. Volunteer activities included outdoor cleanup, mulching, planting , indoor cleaning and other tasks requested by the site. Some 60 Walnut Hills volunteers under the direction of Rev. Graham Cheek, minister of youth and children, served as site representatives, helped with registration and cooked and served meals to the students. The teens participated in two worship services at the church. Shown are students and leaders with their work equipment as they leave for work at local sites.
