Our Saviour's Lutheran Church is getting a new pastor in November. The church formally served by Rev. James P. Nickols for eight years has called Pastor Alexis Witt, who will begin her service by mid-November. Since Rev Nickols' retirement in April 2018 the church has been served by Rev Dr Carol Schweitzer, a seminary professor and parish pastor from Richmond. Pastor Witt brings a résumé which includes undergraduate education at University of Richmond, and graduate degree from the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago, with emphasis in biblical studies. The 120-year old church is very active in the community and has ties to several community groups such as Scouts, Alcoholics Anonymous, Family Focus, and the Senior Champion Program Dementia Day Care program spearheaded by Rev Nickols. The church is part of the Upper James City County Ministerium, which includes seven other local churches that share ecumenical worship and address needs in the community. Our Saviour's is thrilled to introduce its new leadership and invites the community to visit www.oslcnorge.org for more information on its programs. Sunday service is at 10:30 a.m. at 7479 Richmond Road, Williamsburg (Norge).
