June 7, 2018 - Williamsburg, VA. The prestigious P.E.O. STAR Scholarship, for the 2018-2019 academic year, was presented to Anya Keurajian, a senior at Jamestown High School. The scholarship was presented by Jan Krapfl on behalf of P.E.O. Chapter BA, Williamsburg at a recent meeting. Anya has been accepted and will attend James Madison University in the fall. The P.E.O. STAR Scholarship is open to young women who are graduating high school seniors, based on excellence in leadership, extracurricular activities, community service and potential for future success.
P.E.O. is one of the oldest women's organizations in North America. What started as a bond of friendship among seven young women in 1869 has grown to almost 6,000 local chapters with nearly 230,000 members in the United States and Canada. A legacy passed down through generations of women, P.E.O. has deep roots in local communities and our influence reaches to all corners of the globe. The mission of P.E.O. is to celebrate the advancement of women; education women through scholarships, grants, awards, loans, and stewardship of Cottey College and motivate women to achieve their highest aspirations.
