Preserving a Christmas tradition for those who need help.

On Monday, the James City Bruton Volunteer Fire Department in Toano, with help from David Nice Builders, donated a load of Christmas trees to the Williamsburg House of Mercy. The trees were distributed on Tuesday and Wednesday as part of the House of Mercy's annual Christmas food and toy drive for needy families in the Williamsburg area. Michael Powers, President of the fire department, said the trees will be distributed to families who could not afford to buy one helping them preserve the Christmas tree holiday tradition.
