Red, White and Blue 5K at Cheatham Annex

Naval Weapons Station Yorktown hosted the 9th annual Red, White and Blue 5k on Saturday, May 16, at Cheatham Annex. The run is sponsored by the Armed Forces Committee of the Greater Williamsburg Chamber and Tourism Alliance to support the Armed Forces Scholarship fund and Servicemember recognition programs. More than 200 runners, both military and civilian of all ages, including the Dutrow Elementary School Running Club and Team RWB, came out to race at CAX. The 1st place overall male runner was Roger Hopper from Williamsburg with a time of 16:35. The 1st place overall female was Carla Havens of Williamsburg with a time of 21:02. The 1st place overall male military runner was Captain Greg Dawson from NWDC Norfolk and the 1st place overall female runner was BMC(SW/SCW/EXW) Krista Park from NAVELSG. Unfortunately, the U.S. Army had the top average overall times and took the coveted Commander's Cup from the U.S. Navy ... until next year!
