Respite Benefit Luncheon Supports Social Engagement for Dependent Seniors

Respite's annual benefit luncheon raised over $4600, thanks to Carrabba's generous support providing Chicken Marsala meals for 220 guests at no cost. Trader Joe's donated 30 pumpkins for table decorations and door prizes. Respite's volunteer board of directors transformed the Fellowship Hall into a colorful fall festival and served the meals and dessert to guests. Proceeds from this annual event support scholarships to enable families with financial need to participate in the afternoon social engagement club for dependent seniors. Respite began in 2001, to provide a much needed break to caregivers, while enriching their loved ones with arts, music, exercise, and socialization weekday afternoons.
