Shipwrecked Vacation Bible School at King of Glory Lutheran Church

King of Glory Lutheran Church transformed into an island the week of June 25-29, 2018 for their annual Vacation Bible School. The Directors of the VBS Team were 2018 high school graduates Kennedy Becke (Warhill) and Lauren Roth (Lafayette), who transformed into the fun characters Mermaid Mae and Captain Coral. Over the week, Captain Coral was shipwrecked and Mermaid Mae rescued her. They were visited by Professor Bubbles, Dr. Do-Lotz and Bartholomew. On the island 277 children joined them, becoming the best of friends throughout the week. They talked about Jesus together, went to Bible story, snacks, games, KidVid, and Imagination Station and more! Throughout the week, participants brought in donations to serve the greater James City-York County community to assist with feeding those who are under-resourced. However, Captain Coral and Mermaid Mae couldn't have had such an amazing week on their own. They had 110 VBS Staff to help with all the fun events and to share God's love with the children! By the end of the week, all of the 277 children, their families, and 110 VBS Staff knew how much God loved them, and so did Mermaid Mae and Captain Coral!
