St, Andrew's Society of Williamsburg Scholarship

St. Andrew's Society of Williamsburg's President, Doug Burns is seen congratulating Charles Perry, a recent recipient of the Society's Ken Graham Scholarship. Perry, a Junior at Bruton High School, attended the North American Academy of Piping and Drumming in Valle Crucis, NC in July. and received several notable awards. Additionally, Charles is an active member of the Williamsburg Society's Pipe Band under the leadership of Lynn Newcomer. For many years, Williamsburg's St. Andrew's Society has provided educational scholarships to support studies related to an area of Scottish culture including music,dance,history, genealogy, language and religion. Recipients in recent years have included students at Edinburgh, Glasglow and Cambridge Universities in the UK, Gaelic language students in the US, and the Scottish Pipe Band at St. Andrews University, Laurinburg, NC.
