The Sideshow Gallery Opens in Former Master Craftsmen Building on Boundary Street

A large crowd gathered on Sunday, April 29th for the grand opening of The Sideshow Gallery in Williamsburg. The Sideshow features fine handcrafted works of art such as glass, jewelry, furniture, ceramics, and wall art.

Diane Sulg, founder of C.R.A.F.T. and American Craft Week, said, "At the heart of every great gallery is an exceptional roster of outstanding artists. Jenn Raines and her team used their rare combination of knowledge and ingenuity to curate a truly dazzling display of exciting work created by America's most notable craftspeople. From furniture, to glass, to jewelry and everything in between, prepare to be amazed!"

A highlight of the new gallery is the Art-o-Mat, a vintage cigarette vending machine that has been retro-fitted to dispense art. A visitor to a machine chooses a piece of art from the options, puts in a $5 token, and instantly becomes the owner of a piece of handmade art.

The Sideshow is a sister-store to Quirks, which is located just around the corner on Prince George Street and Spoke + Art Provisions Co. opening soon on the Virginia Capital Trail.
