Each year the Williamsburg Area Restaurant Association and Berret's Seafood Restaurant select and honor one Culinary Institute of Virginia student with as the Tom Austin Culinary Scholarship Foundation Recipient. This year Alyssa Riddick was selected to receive this honor. Berret's Seafood Restaurant, Blue Talon Bistro and WARA all contributed to the scholarship fund which CIV matched.
