TVHS Sponsors lecture & Tour to Berkeley & Shirley Plantations

History in your own backyard. A lecture on little known facts about Shirley and Berkeley Plantations will take place on Oct 25. is being sponsored by the Tidewater Virginia Historical Society. Graham Woolief, a direct descendant of Berkeley, and Julian Charity of Shirley Planation will be the guest speakers. The lecture is complimentary. This lecture will get everyone excited about the bus tour to the River Plantations that Thursday, Oct. 28. The bus will leave from Williamsburg at 9:30 a.m. and arrive at Shirley by 10:30 a.m. The group will then drive to Berkeley, enjoy a catered box lunch at the Coach House Café at Berkeley. A tour of the house and gardens will follow. On the way home, the bus will stop at Westover Parish to have a brief walk-round. Although the lecture is FREE, the bus tour will cost $59 to include plantation tours, lunch and bus fee.
