VFW Recipient of WWII Era Knife as Part of Eagle Project

On Saturday, March 30th, a special event was held at the local VFW for Life Scout Hunter Hotop, a scout in Troop 33 from Kansas. At the age of 9, Hunter received a knife from his uncle with the inscription J.J. Fisher. Hunter's Eagle project involved researching records to find the original owner of this WW II era knife, restoring the knife, and presenting the shadow box to Robert Fisher, the son of J.J. Fisher. The box contained the knife, flag, and a photo of J.J. with his Marine Corps peers. Hunter also presented other genealogical documents including early photos of J.J Fisher. Our local Troop 103 adults and several scouts attended the ceremony in support of Hunter and his Eagle Project.
