Volunteers in Police Services honors volunteers with award

On Aug. 19, ‪James City Police Department‬ hosted its annual Volunteers in Police Services (VIPS) award dinner.
During the event, Chief Brad Rinehimer presented Bill and Becky Truax with the "Volunteer of the Year" award. Both Bill and Becky have been VIPS with the Department since June 2013.
They are graduates of the Citizen's Police Academy and also very active in the annual Project Lifesaver Car Show and Shop with a Cop Shred-a-thon events. Bill and Becky also devote many hours to the Department's Community Services Unit assisting with events like Child ID and National Night Out.
They make it a point to attend the VIPS monthly meetings and all of the yearly VIPS events. Bill and Becky have a great passion for the work they do by giving back to the community.
