President William Greaf of the Williamsburg Chapter, Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) presented a wreath at the grave of President James Madison at Montpelier, VA on the occasion of the 268th birthday of the 4th President. The wreath was among others presented during a ceremony by the US Marine Corps, various SAR, DAR, and other patriotic organizations. Highlights of the event featured presentation of the colors, placing of the Presidential Wreath, an emotional rendition of Taps and a 21-gun salute by a contingent of US Marines.
James Monroe, one of our founding fathers, is regarded as the "father" of the constitution and author of the bill of rights, serving as Secretary of State, and then as 4th President.
