WISC Gymnastics Summer Season

The WISC Gymnastics team had a very exciting, productive, and rewarding summer! The season kicked off on June 23rd with the first inaugural WISC Gymnastics Flipping 5K and 1 Mile Color Run, held at the Billsburg Brewery/Jamestown Marina. The race attracted more than 250 runners of all ages. It was a huge success, thanks to the hard work of many generous sponsors, Race Director Caitlin Rudders, the Colonial Road Runners, and the dedicated parents of the WISC Gymnastics Parents' Association (WGPA).

The WGPA hosted its annual New Season Party at the WISC Aquatics Center. The team had much to celebrate: the start of a new season in the gym, the welcome of many new team families, and the end of an incredibly successful 2017-2018 competitive year. Summer training began in earnest, incorporating running, swimming, conditioning, dance, the inception of yoga, and training new skills for routines in the fall.

The summer season concluded with a beach gymnastics practice at Jamestown Beach and a team sleepover held at the gym, both organized by the devoted (and fun-loving!) coaches. The gymnasts are looking forward to the 2018-2019 competitive season with new team leotards and uniforms. Their first meet will be the annual Colonial Classic home meet the weekend of November 4-5th, hosted by WISC Gymnastics.
