Womanless Beauty Pageant raises over $2300 for Gloucester County DAV

Beauty Pageant raises over $2300

On Saturday, September 5th 2015, the 3rd Annual Womanless Beauty Pageant was held at the Thousand Trails Chesapeake RV Resort campground, right here in Gloucester County. Sandy Corker, the event coordinator for the campground, works tirelessly every Labor Day Weekend coordinating this event to raise money for good cause or charity located within our County. Gloucester County Fire & Rescue was the recipient the first two years.

Nine brave contestants entered the Pageant this year. They not only had an evening gown portion of the show, but a swim suit portion as well. Dreux Elliott of Elliott Entertainment provided the music requested by the contestants to walk the runway and strut their stuff. He himself was also a contestant.

The winner was determined by the amount of money raised for this worthy cause. Local businessman such as Dan Zaruba of Edward Jones Investments and Tim Tillage of Tillage Automotive were among some of those supporting our community.

The title of Sir Thousand Trails went to Mark Bechtloff, owner of BridgeMark HVAC. First runner up was Tom Wilburn, owner of The Dent Pro. Fun was had by everyone, contestants and audience alike. The real winner has to be the Gloucester County DAV! This year's Pageant raised the most funds ever, and when all was said and done, the DAV was presented with a check for just over $2200!! Here's hoping next year will be even BIGGER!
