Sunshine in Memorial Day forecast for Virginia Peninsula #hrweather

More sunshine and the beginning of warmer temperatures are in the forecast for Memorial Day on the Virginia Peninsula.

Forecasters are calling for a high Monday of 88 -- about 10 degrees above average -- without a chance of precipitation.

A breeze of 10 to 15 mph out of the southwest will keep things comfortable.

After an overnight low in the mid-60s, the serious heat returns, with high temperatures around 90 -- or into the 90s -- through next Sunday.

Thunderstorms have crept into the forecast for Wednesday and Thursday.
