James Frey donates book to library

James J. Frey (right) donated a copy of his new novel "Kimo's War" to the Williamsburg Regional Library. Accepting the donation is Adult Services librarian Neil Hollands. The story focuses on Lt. Kimo Kitazono and his alter ego, Lapu (the Hawaiian God of Darkness), who materializes as a defense mechanism in Kimo's mind during the war. Through the story the reader gains the author's first-hand perspective on the experience of wartime conflicts and their physical and psychological aftermath. A decorated veteran, the author enlisted in the Army National Guard at 17 and twice served in the Navy. He has taught English in Japan, is a helicopter pilot, and has earned several master's degrees. This title will be added to the Local Authors Project collection at the library. For more information call 259-4042..--.
