James City police to host Coffee with a Cop

Staff Writer

Freshly brewed Java and James City police officers — a winning combination for county residents to get to know their local law enforcement officers.

James City County police will host Coffee with a Cop from 6-8 p.m. Jan. 18 at the Law Enforcement Center at 4600 Opportunity Way, according to a James City County news release.

The informal coffee-time also will feature a tour of the police department.

The sessions allow for residents and officers to build a stronger rapport and solve problems the community faces.

The program is part of a national initiative supported by the Department of Justice.

Residents or business owners interested in hosting a Coffee with a Cop session should call Sgt. John LeClaire at 757-259-5174.
