VDOT: Coleman Bridge to close 20 minutes at a time for tests this weekend

Staff writer

The Virginia Department of Transportation announced Friday the George P. Coleman Memorial Bridge will close after dark for 20 minutes at a time through Sunday.

VDOT crews are testing a new computer system at the bridge and will begin their tests around 10 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights and finish up around 6 a.m. on Saturday, Sunday and Monday mornings, according to a VDOT news release.

VDOT will re-open the roadway between the bridge tests to allow queued vehicles over the York River, the release said.
