Do you have unused or unwanted prescription medicine you want to dispose of safely?
The Williamsburg Fire Department, police department and Williamsburg-James City County Sheriff’s Office will participate in national prescription drug take-back day on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., according to a Williamsburg Fire Department Facebook post.
All types of medicine will be accepted at the event including prescription and over the counter drugs as well as liquids in sealed containers, sharps and needles, the post said.
At an April drug take-back event, the three agencies collected 242 pounds of prescription drugs, which they then turned over to the Drug Enforcement Agency for disposal, according to the post.
