Family Frights comes to Jamestown Settlement

Family Frights transforms Jamestown Settlement with Halloween-themed scenes and activities Oct. 26-27.

The annual family-friendly event, now in its fifth year, features trick-or-treating, games and Halloween decorations 6:30-9 p.m. both days, according to a Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation news release.

Trick-or-treating will take place aboard the decorated Susan Constant, Godspeed and Discovery vessels, which each featuring a distinct theme. Sound effects, smoke and lanterns will create a haunted vibe in the museum’s fort area, which will also feature trick-or-treating. The fort’s buildings will have decorations in line with the year’s themes of “Grimm’s Fairy Tales,” and Heroes and Villains of Gotham.

The Cigar Box String Band will entertain visitors, and children can play pumpkin bowling and beanbag toss. Face painting and fortune telling also will be available.
