Colonial National Historical Park will closed 5 p.m. Thursday in response to the hurricane. Jamestown Island and Yorktown Battlefield were closed Wednesday and Thursday and will remain closed until further notice. The Colonial Parkway remains open.
William and Mary will cancel classes after 12:30 p.m. Tuesday. Classes will remain closed until at least Sunday. Residence halls closed 5 p.m. Wednesday. Sports events after Tuesday’s men’s soccer game through the weekend are canceled. The football game on Saturday will be rescheduled. All events and activities scheduled after 5 p.m. Wednesday through the weekend are canceled.
Walsingham Academy closed at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday. There is no extended care on Wednesday. The school will remain closed Thursday and Friday.
Thomas Nelson will remain closed through Sunday. Essential personnel should report as advised by supervisors.
Williamsburg Area Transit Authority routes will end service at 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday. The Surry route, which includes the ferry, won’t operate Friday and Saturday. Routes will not operate on frequency during rush hour on Friday and Saturday. No service on route 8 after 5 p.m. Wednesday. The route will resume operation Sunday.
The Williamsburg Planning Commission public forum on housing scheduled for Wednesday was canceled. It has been rescheduled for 4-6 p.m. Sept. 26 in the Stryker Center.
Housing Partnerships’ eighth annual PIPE concert in Williamsburg, which was scheduled for Saturday, has been rescheduled for 5 p.m. Sept. 22 at the same venue. Tickets for Sept. 15 will still be honored.
The Bacon Street Youth and Family Services Earl “Tuggy” Young Golf Tournament scheduled for Saturday has been rescheduled for Oct. 28. For more information, visit baconstreet.org.

James City County
All Williamsburg-James City County schools and offices will be closed Friday.
Jolly Pond Road at the dam closed at 5 p.m. Wednesday.
Electric service at the bulkhead/shoreline at James City County Marina is disconnected and will remain disconnected until Monday, Sept. 17. Fuel services and electrical outlets won’t be available to boaters. The marina store operates on normal schedule and all other marina services and equipment rentals are available.
James City County’s Chickahominy Riverfront Park fishing pier will remain closed until further notice, and its Emergency Operations Center will be partially activated on Thursday and Friday.
Hampton Roads VDOT announced the Jamestown-Scotland Ferry plans to reduce service, running only the Pocahontas, beginning at 9 p.m. Thursday until Sunday. Complete suspension of ferry service is possible during high tides 3-6 p.m. Friday, as well as 4-5 a.m. and 4-6 p.m. Saturday.
Harvest Festival scheduled for Saturday is canceled and won’t be rescheduled.
Historic Jamestowne will be closed Wednesday until Friday. All weekend programs are canceled.
Finger printing services will not be available on at the Law Enforcement Center Friday.
The firearm safety course scheduled for Saturday has been canceled.
The Neighborhood Forum scheduled for Wednesday has been canceled.
The Chesapeake Bay and Wetlands meeting scheduled for Wednesday is postponed until Oct. 10.
The Economic Development Authority canceled its Thursday meeting.
The Yorktown Beach picnic area parking lot was closed Friday morning in anticipation of potential tidal flooding. The area is open to pedestrians and the parking lot will be opened again after high tide.
Starting Tuesday, all York County Public Schools and school division offices will be closed until further notice.
The Yorktown Trolley service will continue to run though there will be no service at Yorktown Visitor Center.
York County’s offices, courts, and libraries will be open Friday. Trash and recycling collections are on schedule. However, they will reevaluate the status of offices and refuse services Friday morning, if necessary.
All parks and recreation activities and rentals are canceled until further notice.
The concert scheduled for Friday at Riverwalk Landing is canceled.
Saturday’s Market Days is canceled.
The Riverwalk Landing pier will be closed Wednesday until further notice.
York County has closed its shelter at Tabb High School and has consolidated shelter operations with the state-run facility at Christopher Newport University’s Freeman Center, 1 University Place.
