W-JCC to live stream graduations

There is good news for friends and relatives who can’t attend their Williamsburg James City County Schools senior’s graduation Saturday: the district will live stream all of the high school graduations online.

In addition to the stream, well-wishers for the soon-to-be graduates now have the opportunity to celebrate in advance by tweeting their congratulations and saluting achievements via Twitter using this hashtag #WJCCGRAD18.

“High school graduations are joyous occasions that bring family and friends together to acknowledge both an end and a beginning. It is time to celebrate the hard work that has taken place over 13 years of schooling and to look ahead with anticipation to the next phase of these graduates’ lives — the new adventures that come with college, work or military service,” said Olwen Herron, W-JCC superintendent, in a prepared statement. “We hope this community will join us in publicly acknowledging the notable achievements of the Class of 2018.”

You can access the live stream at wjccschools.org/classof2018. Warhill High School’s graduation is at 9 a.m., Jamestown’s is at 1 p.m. and Lafayette’s is at 5 p.m.
